For Hyatt Hotels Corporation, the hotel experience starts long before patrons lay their heads on their pillows. Design Reactor engaged with the Grand Hyatt San Francisco to create a welcoming digital experience to embrace hotel guests upon their arrival at the hotel lobby. The visually stunning 8x3 multi-screen installation captured the time sequence of the sunrise and sunset inviting both passersby and expected hotel guests into the lobby by bringing the outdoors... in. The customer experience for international and local travelers is considered from the moment patrons enter the lobby doors, enjoy their stay, and depart for their next port of destination.
Located in the urban setting of Union Square in downtown San Francisco, we worked with the Grand Hyatt to create an impactful digital experience for guests as soon as they step foot into the hotel lobby. Strategically placed 30 feet up the wall on the Mezzanine level, the digital installation provides a visually stunning showcase for guests and passersby as it is viewable from the glass outer wall of the hotel's frontage street. The exhibit mimics the glow of the sunrise and sunset through video integration so appealing to an always on the go, first-class, international traveler.
Design Reactor partnered with the Hyatt to asses their needs as well as spec, scope, and install the proposed features and technical infrastructure. In addition to the hardware and physical elements, Design Reactor also designed the creative video and animated content for the optimized digital signage video wall. The installation is comprised of a 24 screen array delivering an 8k video experience (which is over 8 times the standard 1080p video specs). The digital installation utilizes the latest embedded video wall processing technology, video over Ethernet, remote monitoring, and 4k/8k video wall content.
